I’ve had this rice bowl for ages, and was told it was quite old when I bought it at an Antiques fair because the marks on the base were hand written , not stamped.
I believe it reads "Dai Nippon" for Great Japan and I also see the Kutani mark, but need help with the rest

Thanks, what is late Qing period? I’m guessing around 1960’s?

The mark is from an old photo I transferred from my old computer, so wasn’t able to edit it. I will have to get my bowl and look at it again ast he mark got blurred when I cropped the pic

It is Chinese but I'd say it is much later Guangxu 1875-1908.

A clearer pic. of the marks will resolve the issue.

I would say post 1950, it looks new with the unglazed foot rest with no wear or staining. Tradituonal Chinese porcelain rice bowl, with the rim ruyie border, symbol of the emperor spectre and the lotus flowers also symbolic, and the 4 Chinese characters for good omens such as longevity, happiness, wealth and wisdom.

I agree with truthordare. I think it's very new - but still a beautiful bowl. The 4 character mark is definitely apocraphyl - [honoring the wares of the Ming dynasty]. I'm pretty sure that it says something like 'The great Ming Period' on the base.

i think the real question is what are we committed to
it,s a mun shou longevity pink ground - bao xiang hua pattren ( scroling lotus )
we are not committed to the corrosion , but to the mark and the frotte (smearing out of the enamal)

i haven,t run this , but i think there is a major oversight, this is some kind of guanghu mark and the middle mark in the left section is off , most looks like the letter f , but i stink we are guangxu related , but the frotte looks like republic period

this is strange normally the are People republic of china periode this one looks late republic period

it does, not make sense TOD must be right , the faked Guanghu the PROC way

my very first collection was focused on Ebay's Chinese modern (PROC) hand painted fine white porcelain export items, of little value because there was so much of it, this was 20 years ago. I liked it anyway.
