Hello Fellow Collectors and Visitors. A few days ago I posted the #1 issue Mickey Pocket watch and told about the differences between it and the rest to follow.
This is the wristwatch variant from the Chicago World Fair where the Mickey Mouse watch made it's debut. The bezel has an Art-Deco design, the casing is a wire-lug style, the #'s 5 & 7 are linear in size to the others on dial, no pointer indicator between the smaller Mickeys on the sub-dial and finally the boxing is unique to the first issue. These watches were produced from May 1933 until the Disney Company decided to revamp the dial, casings and boxing to be more children friendly. The new case was more sturdy, the # 5 & 7 were relocated under Mickey's knees to make placement correct and an indicator on the sub-dial to read the seconds scale. The boxing was changed to what is now called the "Critter" box, which included several of the main Disney characters of the day. These changes took affect for the "Fall" issue in Retail sale of 1933(Approx. Sept-Oct).
The pocket watch and Wristwatches with this design style are truly the "First" issue Mickey Mouse watches..... that started all the craze.
Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed hearing the story and the watches from my "Horde"
    Kerry

I really like the wrist band Kerry. Was it made only for this edition?
    5. kerry10456 kerry10456, 8 years ago
@ Rod....This edition had either this bracelet or a leather strap with Mickey charms, but basically same used through out all the 1933-37's with some very minor changes. The way it attached to the case being different on bracelet. The leather straps for this edition were unique, and through the other years the strap end was chaged several times....pointed, rounded and square...

This is so interesting how all these small changes when viewed by the trained eye are telling a detailed story of the order in which the mickey watches were produced beginning with this 1933 issue. Not so obvious to the novice collector. Great informative post Kerry!!

Ha ha don't get excited everyone. Mine is the newer variant from the fall of '33 so definitely not a Chicago fair. Sorry to mislead, jus meant I had one "like" this but not exactly. I should know better sorry????X

I could have sworn the earliest advert for the MM wristwatch had lugs Kerry, as in my advert from June 10th. 1933 posted on here.
