      Your little stick pin is called a vinaigrette.

      Definition:

      Vinaigrette are usually small boxes with a hinged lid, which opens to reveal a pierced grill, also hinged, and underneath the grill would be a small sponge. soaked in an oily sweet smelling substance. Used both by men and women were generally carried whilst travelling, to give a pleasent aroma as the streets.

      Your grandmother was a saucy girl! The scene on the cover is Leda & the Swan, a theme more favored for men's jewelry, so perhaps it was a cravat pin grandma had from a gentleman.
