Kai's published article on loetz.com on Loetz cut glass also includes some comparisons and Kralik paper design references for a range of pieces. I read his piece with great interest and within a week I had identified and bought a small Loetz cut glass bowl. Within three weeks I had grabbed this Kralik pair.
They are high quality and really well executed by genuine craftsmen and appear to be somewhat influenced by Loetz in style (or was it the other way around?...no idea really, just guessing!).
One is slightly lighter than the other.
They stand 26cm (10")
Very nice pair, indeed !!!!
Thanks Kev, it's nice to get a different perspective on my favourite manufacturer
Congratulation for this very nice pair of high quality etched and cut Kralik vases.
Thank you Kai ... you inspired me!
These are so much like the light purple vase I posted about many moons ago that was tentatively ID'd as Val St. L... I think I need to do some more Kralik research.
I don't think your 'Huntress' is Kralik Scott, it's just too fine and I haven't seen any Kralik pieces that are even close to the quality of your vase. The detailing on the top and the base are also not seen on Kralik pieces.
You could be right, Phil. I'll have to take another look... it's wrapped and in storage right now. The shape and the panel cuts - top & bottom both - sure look the same (IIRC).
Hi Scott, I'm putting a comment on your vase post as it seems more appropriate.
