I found where Pyrex made some dishes with a very similar mark, but the similar mark has words also. And I read where they may also have made some dishes for the military, funny how interested I am in the few old military dishes I find with my daughter currently serving in the Navy. I'm looking to date this?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks for looking!

Nice depiction of a working glass blower. Sorry, don't know much about the mark though.

I'm guessing likely Libbey's institutional ware. These are shown in the 1956 catalog made in different sizes; I'm guessing this is probably the 8 oz. version on page 5 of the attached catalog as "H-T No. 1917-8 0z."

technically that's page 5 of the pdf but page 3 of the catalog...

Some research... looks like an old Corning mark... http://scripophily.net/coincode19.html

Hi Karen, your fourth photograph seems to have some other patterning, which I don't quite understand. It looks like a different glass bottom altogether?

Yes, more to support corning attribution ... see post on 7/10/2013 by wrekless_eric

Libbey became a subsidiary of Owens-Illinois shortly before O-I and Corning Glass Works formed Owens-Corning

Interesting TallCakes, so possibly a Libbey shape after a Corning merger :-) Good team detective work!
    9. TallCakes TallCakes, 8 years ago
the shape does show up in a 1939 catalog; a year following the formation of Owens-Corning

Wow TallCakes, Beyemvey.....you two are amazing!
I found one thing similar in over an hour...lol
I'm currently waiting on my early dinner in a restaurant but couldn't wait to see what you all may know and share. Thank you so much! When I get home I can try to sort everything out, but I feel like my mystery is solved. Wish I could make that happen with that caviar dish...lol
And yes TallCakes, I forgot to mention the size. But I'd say your guess of 8oz. Is correct.

And Gillian, that's the edge of a magnifying glass I used for a good photograph.
      Thanks for looking!

Thanks for looking and loving everyone!

Nice dish Karen!! Thank your daughter for her service! My son is in the Army National Guard and majoring in criminal justice at Eastern Kentucky University.

      Thanks Jcotto363!
I will tell her, thank you! And thank your son as well.
I so wish I could tell you exactly what my daughter is doing with her education, but she's now 32 and earned a few degrees, I've decided she's a career student. I'm not sure how I feel about that, I'd like to see her experience the miracle of birth....SOON!...lol
