GEORG JENSEN Brooch #152, I don't know what the stone is in this piece. I saw a similar piece With Lapis Lazuli but my stones look different.
The piece is Sterling Silver with a mark 830 in a dotted circle, Georg Jensen dotted oval, Denmark stamp and #152. It has a "C" clasp which is covered.
Measurements: Height: 5,4 cm / 2.1" and Width: 5,4 cm / 2.1"
My Mama purchased this piece many years ago in a lot which was given to me as part of my inheritance. I would really like to know what the stone is and if there is any other insight you can give me on it. Thank you so much for any help in advance. I was advised not to clean the piece, is this correct?
This is a very early piece! Absolutely do not clean it. Patina is very important on antique silver pieces. The hinge dates it to the Victorian/Edwardian period, but the mark dates it to 1915-1927.
Here is the same design listed as having Lapis Lazuli. The stones in your brooch could be Labradorite.
