Nobody seems to know what this is. This was found in Central Illinois in Janesville. It was at an old welding shop, but was not necessarily welding related as there was tons of plunder at this old shop.
    Thanks!

Looks like something you would stick in the ground?
    2. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 8 years ago
Do any parts move or appear to have moved before ?
    3. paulymatic, 8 years ago
Had not thought about it being stuck into the ground, possible.
No moving parts...has 3 tines that are rather robust and were probably really sharp at one time. Thanks for looking

This is a "Coolerator" ice cube pick/holder used with a "Coolerator" Ice Cube Cutter Tray which cut cubes in blocks of ice and allowed the ice pick to cut them loose and the retainer to hold them in place (Patent #2,070,773 from 1935)

Whoa! That is great! Thanks Whatisitman...totally makes sense. I will pass this on to the owner. That is fantastic!

I have a larger one and it is a trap for moles. You stick it in the ground and as the mole runs through his tunnel, it traps him and "does away with him"! That is what I was told. Ours looks just like yours, but it is larger! Great item and useful! Ladybee

Not something you want to do an image search on - Mole trap. They don't even see it coming. Seriously though, horrible way to get rid of an animal.

If it has no moving parts, how does it kill the little buggers ? They impale themselves ? They commit pest-icide ?

Go to YouTube and look up Mouse Trap Mondays. Might find something entertaining there!
