Hi CW Gang ~
Have this from my Dad coins ( + RIP + ) and it is 1953 Canadian .50 cent piece. I know they talk about the Shoulder strap on this year and that it depends which it has // or has not == as one is worth some $$$, I think. Just thought I would post it. So does this HAVE the shoulder strap or not? Let me know your thoughts.
Any additional info welcomed.....
Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

I can,t see it dear IMO 1953 Canada 50 Cents Km# 53 Shoulder Fold, first portrait
there is lot of wear, its awfull hard to see, For the 1953 production year, there were two obverse varieties (No Shoulder Fold and Shoulder Fold) and two reverse varieties (Small Date and Large Date). Because of die polishing, a variant exists in 1953 and 1954 coins where the shoulder strap cannot be easily seen.
you still got the curvilinearity in the shoulder bowl, see the comparison , NUmista
50 Cents - Elizabeth II 1st portrait, simplified coat of arms
we have to grade the state were it is , i think it is VG which means VERY GOOD or in the best case scenario FINE IMO you are in a VG 10 grading which actually are the lowest qualification
the intrinsic valua is from 0$ - 7 dollar, the market value is certainly not much higher
sorry dear i can,t see it , so i am not sure, this is the best i can do
