I've wanted a Knizek/Boudnik vase for a long time and thought I had actually succeeded in grabbing one with this little beauty. But after some further research with the help of Warren Galle was able to establish that it is actually a piece produced by Poschinger at Buchenau between 1900 and 1905. I was initially a little disappointed, but now, not so much.
It really is a beauty, has many of the reduced enamel markers you see on Knizek pieces like earth tones of browns, blues and greens, but it is the shape and threading which points toward Poschinger. The threading is heavily enameled in gold and the surface is a deep copper metallic and a very beautiful thing it is too. Actually, my first Poschinger piece and possibly not my last!
Stands a fraction over 6" (16cm)
Beautiful piece all the way around - nice add to your collection.
Very unusual piece Phil looks like pottery at first !!!!!!!! well done
