This is an Art Deco (?) figurine lamp Im trying to find out more about. Can anyone help ?
I think it is possibly 1930s and was my nan's.
It is of a cartoon cat with a bow tie and black and white striped trousers. Not sure if its generic or a recognisable character of that era
Is the UL sticker on the lamp? Sometimes you can get an approximate age from the color of the sticker. The sticker sometimes has other info as well, patent number, a company name. And what's it made of?
It's cute as heck!
Totally a treasure and the motion he purveys all can appreciate, fantastic !~
I have a pair. Not lamps, two sizes. Same stripes, same tails, green eyes. Hand written under foot ITALY.
Well, the user is likely from the U.K, so it wouldn't have a UL sticker (empirical observations: "trousers", "nan", and "recognisable" with an "s"). Not sure if we have any UK lamp experts left anymore on here?
Not just lamps anymore! I like your analysis spiritBear.
