I've spent ages trying to photograph this ring, these photos are my final attempt. This is a Bernard Instone ring, I've recently put on a silver and Moonstone and red paste stone brooch, the leaves on this ring are are the same or similar. The ring is marked for sterling silver, what I'm most interested in is the opal. At first I thought it was a white opal, but if you look at one of my photos you can see several coloured rings going around the stone. It isn't a doublet as you can see from the photo taken from the back. I'm hoping someone can solve this for me.
Many thanks for looking.
Thank you nutsabotas, I appreciate your comment :-)))
Gorgeous ring Jean and will look lovely on your pretty hands.
I hope Kiwi Paul can help you with the opal.
Thank you Karen, I'm hoping Paul will pass by and give his verdict, I have a feeling the opal is from Cooper Pedy.
It is just gorgeous Jean!!!
As a guess I would have said solid white opal as well........but purely a guess!!!
I can't help you there, but it's a gorgeous ring!
Hi Judy, I also agree with you on the opal, I'm waiting for Paul to have a look. Thanks for your comment.
I really appreciate the visit bijoucaillouvintage and thank you so much for your comment.
What a beautiful stone Jean!
Hi Jean, yes I'd say Coober Pedy semi-translucent opal.
It's a lovely ring, another great piece for your Instone collection!
Thank you Rick :-)))
Hi Paul, I did have feeling the opal was from Cooper Pedy. My Bernard Instone collection is growing rapidly lol. Thanks for the information Paul.
