I am hoping to identify the maker of this vintage belt buckle, which seems to be silver over enamel. It is very heavy and of a beautiful design. Part of the wording on the reverse of the belt is covered by the buckle, and it reads, in part '.olden Copper with the numbers '540' and the initials IND, one letter each in three diamond imprints. Thank you for any information.

Yes, it's a great looking buckle...very heavy. Even though it is not marked, the metal seems to be sterling silver.
The patina looks wrong for silver, but I would suggest having it tested for precious metal content.
Thank you. I will do that. This picture was taken after I polished the silver portion, which was tarnished.
