This is a silk square , just about 10 x 10 inches (needs ironing)..I think maybe it could be a souvenier (spelled wrong?) ...it appears to be quite old.
The ship is in full color and is actually embroidered onto this fine material..the threads feel very soft to the touch. In large red letters under the ship N.D.C. and under that and just to the right in goldtone letters D. Bremen. Below both of above is a black wavy lines which may symbol a flag holder as just under it are three flags.
That is all I know about this piece and its possible it may have come to me a long time ago in a large lot of paper memorabilia I purchased from the early 1920's....that is just an assumption at the moment.
Hope someone can identify it. ...and thanks.
PS: I did not know which category to put this in so I have no objection to the category being corrected by this site.
It`s Norddeutscher Lloyd, a German shipping company.I think the first flag on the left in blue is crossed anchor and the key (of Bremen). Then German and American flag (liners to USA).

Letters in silk embroidery can be easily distorted. It`s probably ``NDL``.
Do not iron it; just soak in water and dry between two cotton sheets, but if ironing use very low temperature and never directly. Old silk is very fragile.
