Thrift store find. I know it's Copely, but I don't know when it's from? I know they were around from WW2 to the '50s, but can we narrow it further?
I think I will actually use this one as a planter (although it is currently full of water and hydrogen peroxide as it smelled like mouse crap/urine). I happen to like it. It's quite cute.
My wife loves these Royal Copley dog figurines, and we have many of them. :^)
Spaulding Chana Company, that produced Royal Copley, started producing it's Artware and Giftware in 1942, at Sebring, Ohio, just after the start of WWII, until it closed in 1957.
I remember my grandmother displaying this planter in her living room. I'm not sure whatever happened to it. I have a Royal Copley cat that I bought at an antique store in Washington state a few years ago. It's in my posted pics if you want to check it out sometime.
Billretirecoll, thank you for the info. I also like this one.
TimeTraveller, I'll take a look.
