Hello CW friends and fellow collectors!!
I posted a set of these last year sometime. But, I felt these worthy of a posting as well.
These are German made cast iron rabbits. They measure 8" tall and nicely detailed. They are reproductions of the originals that were produced in early 1900. These were produced sometime during the 1980's.
I have two sets of these, but my other set is missing the female rabbits' basket and the male rabbits' original cast iron walking stick.

Thanks friend!! Yes, these are probably my most colorful set of rabbits. These actually have movable parts, such as the females' head and both of them have movable arms.

Believe it or not I just bought the male rabbit on an auction yesterday. Can you tell me how I tell if is a reproduction or an original. My does not have a seam down the front and it does not have moving parts. I wish the female would have come with it. Now I am disappointed after seeing your email. Also would you happen to know the value? Not that I am selling because I am not, I am just curious.

The only reason I say these are reproductions from the 1980's is that they are so new looking in appearance. If these were originals, I'd expect to see some paint loss and much smoother castings. The very old cast iron figures and doorstops were a very smooth casting. These have no seams either, but the castings are similar to cheap reproductions. They could very well be originals, but I really doubt it. As I mentioned in my post, I have two sets of these and I believe I paid $25 or less for each of the figures. Unfortunately, it's against CW policy to give out values. But, I also wouldn't have any idea of their value.

Thank you so much for your quick response. My colors are much duller, and the grass he is standing on is the brown color of the cast iron. Mine also stands 13 1/2 inches tall from grass to top of the ear. I just love my find.

Sounds like you made really nice score! Have you posted them yet? Being the huge rabbit and hare that I am, I'd love to see it. The one you found is far better than the one's I have.
