I bought this today at a yard sale. They had no idea what it was. In researching it ,I found that the OPW is a fuel oil/gasoline equipment supplier. They make manhole covers, gas spouts, etc.
I believe this is probably a wrench to turn and remove the gasoline fill covers at a old service station, anyone have any ideas?
It's marked OPW with the P in the middle and larger...possibly signifying OWP, but I couldn't find an OWP company.
The t-handle is 5" long and has a chipping hammer ground on one end. The wrench is a rectangle end ,
also 5" long.
The number M124 is stamped at the wrench end.
It looks like a key to me. I used something similar on buses as a conductor.
What did your key unlock on the bus?

It does. Not much leverage, but ok for small ones.
could be for opening barrels some have caps on them so you can put a spout on them ... ??
I was guessing similar to Surfdub66.
But I was thinking it lifted water meter lids.
My sister in law worked reading meters here locally, back in the day when they walked house to house. And I remember her complaining as to having to bend over to lift the lid with a very similar tool. So they may be one of those. They now ride in their vehicles and point a meter reader gun at each house. Cool item!
It makes sense. I would guess that the chipping hammer part would be good for dislodging gravels and dirt. Thanks for all the replies!
