In this category of Bohemian Art Glass, we are generally obsessed with inter-war art glass, which is great, that is what obsesses me too. However in this Bohemian Art Glass category there are some fantastic Art Nouveau/Jugendstil pieces that I have found a real interest in - particularly Harrach.

Until recently I had only made observations of pieces and not actually acquired anything, basically because I have tried to be careful to avoid making mistakes and frankly a lot of identified Harrach pieces for sale are pretty expensive. But when this little vase came up I thought 'I recognise this decor'. I made reference to one of Marty's listings - a flurry of emails and he had identified it for me - Cheers Marty!!

    Here's a showcase post by Marty : http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/161089-harrach-atlas-glass-vases--a-feast-for

Furthermore this listing of inky's : http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/121721-harrach-atlas-glass-c1885-a-vase-to-b is clearly the same decor.

OK... so it's not quite as grand as the ones in the links above

It was listed as a Cameo Vase?? by a lady who was clearing a cupboard for her mother and bought for a BIN price nice and cheap - just the way I like it!!

    7" (18cm) nicely polished pontil

That collection is just nuts ... ! I only found 1 small piece of Atlas Glass in that collection though - and you had to look hard to find it - thanks Ian - I'm bookmarking this one!

Thanks for your comment Brian - I was so happy to find this little gem - it's my new favourite thing and makes a change from the usual 'Bohemian' stuff.
