Lots of the glass produced by Japan was quickly and cheaply made for the West, attractive and well executed, and unlikely to polarise opinion.
This is one such piece.
I don't know who made this but it did have a standard blue and silver sticker on the base, JAPAN, at one stage. It's not unlike pieces made by the Italians or Poles, and is a fairly standard handkerchief vase; blue glass, white cased internally, white and brown spatters and a clear case. It's quite thin compared to Japanese art glass.
Doesn't excite me, doesn't offend me either!
Height:20cm
Exactly right CG, thanks.
Thanks Valentino. I am happy to have it here and look at it.
Oh it's quite lovely, the shape and colors, would make a great display piece! If you had a lot of these in different colors, or added into a display of blue vases, would be a standout, I think. :)
Thanks Katherine. Glad you like it :)
Thanks for the heads up Lisa.
It's actually contemporary Chinese made glass. I have a few of these myself that were sold at a @home, home decor stores.
