This Gloglass 9" x 12" RC Cola sign was made by the Dura-Products Co in Ohio perhaps in the 1930's. It was given to my brother and me along with a similar Coca-Cola sign of the same vintage by our grandmother back in the 1960's. As my grandfather, her husband, had a small grocery store during the 30's and maybe the 40's, I can only surmise they came from his store as she was not a collector. They then sat perilously on shelves above our (teenage boys!) beds for many years__surprisingly without ever being broken or even damaged! This is in nearly pristine condition but it is also not kept in it's previously, precarious position.
I find myself even today,_still drawn to the colors and the way the light reflects off the crinkled foil backing to enhance and 'pop' the rear-painted words and image. It would have made me want an RC cola!
Through a lot of amateur sleuthing I have been able to come up with absolutely no reference of any kind, anywhere to this particular sign. Any information at all would be appreciated.
If I had an opportunity to go to Ohio and check for obscure information on Dura-Products signs, I would. Somewhere there's got to be a book or reference material that delves into the 'Gloglass' story_that too I would like to know more about. Thanks!

Out of respect for the guidelines and restrictions for showing an item on this website__I only mentioned the Coke sign in passing and there are after all, other examples of it to be seen. And I have other plans for it. A similar version can be seen as being sold in 2007. Just try searching terms like 'Gloglass', 'easel-back' and '1930's'. I've seen two versions of that sign,_mine is the horizontal one.

I have seen 2 examples of glass coca cola signs. I just want to see the coke one to see which is it. These signs are just very rare, and highly wantable.

This is a really great sign!!!! I live in a small town in NC that made signs like this for most of the soda companies. Sure with they had made this one, I'd have one like it too.
