Does anyone know what type of musical instrument this is - it is made of wood, maybe bamboo, and appears to be handmade. It resembles a banjo, but most banjos that I see online don't have the hole in the center. Thanks for any clues. Also, does anyone know the age of this item?
Thank you.
Some type of South American Ukulele? A guess.
Thanks for the feedback - will check into that. thanks again.
Thank you very much for the information, Thomas, it is greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful day.

Here's a link to the Gibson Tenor Lute, it has a nice sound track, on details! :^)

Hey Thomas good job! This one is a lot different though. Anita's seems to be hand made.
Thanks very much for the link - the lute has the same shape, as well as the tenor guitar - I've been searching a lot online and the one that I found seems to be very thin if you look at the side photo. And it has the hole in the center. At first I thought it was a banjo, but every banjo that I searched did not have the hole in the center. The one that I have has a string on the end to hang it on the wall, as though it was hanging on a wall somewhere. I picked it up at a thrift store.
