Can someone help me identify this basket? Is it Native American?
It has a hand sewn lining on the interior. The top of the basket is a bit loose and needs repair. Other than that it is very tight and in good shape. Thanks!
It may be Inuit, I have one similar. I think I posted it earlier. Look for Inuit sewing basket, in your search.
It may be Chinese wicker.
Hi Bill,
After reading your comments I looked at both. It doesn't appear wicker and the weave of the Chinese baskets is more of a square, traditional "basket weave" pattern. I uploaded an additional photo of the inside of the lid to show you. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Brenda
Hey thanks Brenda, I posted two of my lidded baskets, so maybe we both can get some answers! :^)
This basket is from Lombok, Indonesia.
Here's a link to one on zippy, not much info, and in poor shape. They say Shaker Style. What ever that means. :^)

Thank you Bill! Definitely similar for sure.
Thanks Canyon Road! Can you tell me how you knew it is Lombok specifically?
CanyonRoad solves yet another basket mystery. :)
