here's just a few of the many beautiful scenes in this book of photos called 'See Your West' and published by Standard Oil Co. and distributed at their gas stations. Apparently, these were published every few years over many years, but these are some of the earlier ones - from around 1941 i think. some of these are really beautiful and others are just so/so. these prints are tipped in and very framable!
i haven't been able to put large photos of my pieces in here lately. i have to make them small in order for them to take. i've been having a bunch of problems seeing and using photos on CW lately. i hope that it's being worked on!
Those are beautiful
thank you Mrstyndall!
I'm also unable to enlarge the photos, but they looks very vibrant.
thanks SpiritBear! i'm not sure what's going on w/ CW that won't let me post regular sized photos.
So are they real photos, or chromolithographs?
I noticed that the 'background' a photo would 'blow up' in turned to black, and the photo rarely blew up anymore, as of a few weeks ago for me. I thought it was only on my side, but you say otherwise.
I'm guessing it's due to an update. All sites update, but, in my experience, most updates are bad.
i agree that it is not a good change for cw. the platform might be maxing out and unless it's rebuilt, will not be able to maintain. these are chromolithographs, i think. but they are of photographs, of course.
