Approximately 4" diameter , and of considerable age I found this in a small town Antique store at $9.50 Canadian and though I hadn't seen this type of Enamelwork before I had to buy and research it.
It is Syrian, Damascus probably and I have found 3 or 4 with the same type of Arabic inscriptions carved ? onto the copper, this has the added colored blobs .Dates vary 16th to early 19th century. Any expert knowledge appreciated !
The quotations maybe Koranic or Poetry. The marks on the bottom appear to be Kufic, again help appreciated.

Do you have any thoughts regarding dating? I'm so impressed with the precision of the script enamelling so unlike other enamels I have seen.
