Approximately 4" diameter , and of considerable age I found this in a small town Antique store at $9.50 Canadian and though I hadn't seen this type of Enamelwork before I had to buy and research it.
It is Syrian, Damascus probably and I have found 3 or 4 with the same type of Arabic inscriptions carved ? onto the copper, this has the added colored blobs .Dates vary 16th to early 19th century. Any expert knowledge appreciated !
The quotations maybe Koranic or Poetry. The marks on the bottom appear to be Kufic, again help appreciated.
It's beautiful. Well researched, I would not have thought Syrian.
