katherines…

So the other day, antiquerose shared her Murano millefiori paperweight, and when I asked her to show a photo of the base, she did. Having seen her photos and doing some further research online, I felt confident about buying some paperweights I'd seen at the swap meet - seven paperweights for ten dollars. I am certain these three are Murano, and fairly sure two others in the group I bought are also Murano. So thanks, Rose, and all you lovely helpful friends here at CW, for all you do and share and teach, you are the best.
They're beautiful!
Gorgeous, particularly the apple!
Very nice!!
Nice profile pic as well.
Swooning over the apple but I love the right-hand one as well!
I would be tempted to suggest that the middle one might be Caithness glass though...
Thanks for the love, Efesgirl, sklo42, Mrstynsdall, TimeTraveller, nutsabotas6, pebble, and Manikin. :)
Thanks, Bonnie, they are pretty, aren't they? :)
Thanks, sklo42, the apple is scrummy! :)
Thanks, Mrs, they are rather nice! :)
Thanks, Ken, always a pleasure to hear from you. :)
Thanks, Time Traveller, the cat makes her yearly appearance. :)
Thanks, pebble, for swooning! I'll have to check on the Caithness glass, thank you for the suggestion. :)
Thanks for the love, Caperkid, aura, vetraio50, and blunderbuss2. :)
Thanks for the love, fortapache. :)
Sick I tell you, sick! 7 for $10!!!
These beauties would be $50 each minimum at even the lowest of markets here.
It's hard to pick a fave: the colours in 3 are me; the millefiori and layout of 2 just perfect; the apple is scrumptious.
Those clever clever Muranese :))
Thanks for the love, mikelv85, LovelyPat, and racer4four. :)
Ha, Karen, I wondered who would pick up on the incredible bargain I got. Ten bucks was def a Bonnie price, aaaaaaand, the rest of the story is: I passed them up last weekend because I thought for that price they had to be Chinese. Now this is the same guy who sold me two Murano bowls for a dollar a piece about a year ago so I should have snapped up the paperweights, right? Instead I walked away on that Saturday and didn't go back for them on Sunday. Over the week, it happens that Rose posted her paperweight, then I further researched and found a great article which gave me the right information on what to look for, so on Saturday I went back, thinking the paperweights wouldn't be there, but there they were, and when I checked all the details were right. So it was destiny, they were meant to be mine! :) As far as faves, they all have their particular beauty, but for me, the last one, smeared (perhaps end of day?) millefiori, is my pick. Complex decor, more interesting to my eye and brain. Would prob drive someone with OCD crazy, lol. :)
Thanks for the love, Vintagefran. :)
Pebble, I double-checked, this is def Murano, not Caithness. Thanks!
Katherine! 7 such beauties for 10$.... craaazy price you got!!!
I do think we are chosen by the pieces we buy, your superb paperweights wanted to go nowhere else than at your home, in your hands.
They became invisible to others, waiting for you tobcome back to the booth :-)
Thrilled to see the others in next post, my heart goes first to the one in pic 4!
Thanks for the love, kyratango, kivatinitz, and Roycroftbooksfromme1. :)
Pascale, yes, I got an amazing deal. Perhaps you're right, perhaps they were destined to come home with me. Not sure what you mean about pic#4? Thanks for your visit, my friend. :)
Lol, must have say last pic... Meant pic#3 :-)))))
I thought that's what you meant, my friend. Yes, that's my favorite, too. :)
katherinecollections, the same base of flowers as the flowers in your Micro Mosaic brooch!
the one in the middle seems sounds , i am not so sure about the other
ask yourself a question is the depth =profondità sound and is the divisio sound, the divisio as a sequence of stomata in chlorophil
