Hi CW Gang ~
This is about 6 inches tall & has no base mark. It also has sparkles in it. When I saw it for $ 1.99 I had to have it as I knew I had seen something like it before on CW. ( ***** ho2cultcha has something like it in an old post ). So yes I grabbed this Vase. Any ideas anyone? Gotta be older as the glaze has crazing on it. Might be a studio piece, but I just do not know. Help ............

Sure is like his! You've got a good memory! I might as well post my vase with speckles or sparkles...I think mine is a lot newer than yours. I just got it because it was so different. I'll wait till I can get a good shot of it in the daylight (shade of course).
sparkly glazes were popular in the netherlands back in the teens-40s too.
My vote is for contemporary Chinese, last 20 years. Absolutely beautiful glaze!
I believe you're right art.pottery! The crazing that this glaze has, is made that way, not from age. Nice little vase though, reminds me of some of the old U.S. pottery, Rookwood, Weller, Roseville, or McCoy pottery from the early 1900's, or even English, or European pottery from the same time. Dark to yellow browns, with a clear glaze on top, sometimes had flowers or scenes under the glaze also.
Some of these "copy" pieces, that are made in China are what brought the prices down, on the older pottery, because without the paper "Made In China" label, some people, may be deceived, in my opinion!
Best bet(unless you're sure), is buy what you like, not what it might be, won't ever be sorry then! Throw in a good price...got it made! :^)

I found another one of these vases, will post soon - but it had a label on it for HOSLEY TM POTTERIES. The label on the one I found looks newer, but older stuff has a ink stamp on it.....but still strange as the one with a newer label on it has crazing in the glaze too. I say a newer label as it has a www address on the label..............UNLESS it is New Old Stock stuff ?????

The color is great on this! I agree with Billretirecoll, in that you should buy things because you like them. I am like that too, if something jumps out at me and for a good price I will buy it. I would have bought this vase, too :)
