Aztec / Mayan Ball Player?

I think that this is the profile of an Aztec / Mayan ball player, but i'm not sure. it's not signed, but it looks like a piece sold out of a museum gift shop. i like these pieces alot. i have quite a few of them.

i put native american as the category because i don't know where else to put it. i don't mean to say that it was made by native americans, but definitely ABOUT them. ??
