I already had most of the pieces for this set but I didn't have the box. Found the empty box at the Long Beach Antique Market. Paid $30 for this along with the flipper puzzle set as I did a bit of bundling.
The tin litho building was sold unassembled and would fit flat in the box.
Sadly the site I used to date these sets seems to be missing so I will have use the educated guess method. Marx started making playsets with plastic figures in the 1930s and this set seems to be based on the singing cowboy movies of that time. In the 1950s the playsets tended to be a lot less peaceful with the figures all carrying weapons along with wounded a dead figures. I would guess late 1930s-early 1950s for this set.
This is not one of the more valuable sets as in didn't have a tie-in to a movie or TV show like Roy Rogers and so on.
