    Hi

    I cant make up my mind if this is bronze or brass... It is not magnetic, hollow, weights 14lbs and measures 17 x24x35 cm.

    I have scratched the bottom.. and it appears more golden than yellow..
    Some parts of the exterior do appear to have that reddy brown tinge..

    fingers crossed its bronze.. but does anyone know a definitive test other than getting a metaloligist to test it ?

      The fact that it is hollow would tell me it was blow molded or similar and then plated. Difficult to tell from pictures but a nice looking piece. Shine a light up inside and look for a mold number or marks. Mold marks were often inside.

      thanks for the comment.

      I had a look inside - cant see any numbers. I also scratched the inside and its the same yellow/gold colour as, for example, where the outside nose is...so I guess not plated ?
