This reel was manufactured by Waltco Products Inc. of Chicago, Illinois in 1956 with a price tag of $17.50. The reel came in various colors, both single color, two colors and even three colors. The reel came out with a 5-year warranty. Waltco NY-O-Lite spinning reel is made primarily of Nylon. The only metal on this reel is the bail, screws, and main shaft. This reel was a promotional gimmick from Du Pont to promote Nylon. This reel is very usable and works great.

I forgot to mention in my original post, I don't think this reel was mounted to a rod and used. There are no scuff marks on the foot. Also, there are at least eight different color variations that I know of, I have photos of them. Oldschool76, if you decide to get rid of the reel let me know. If you would, post a few photos of it on this site. And I thank you in advance.

      Madison Abad:
There is most likely more than one site to get an estimate of the value of your reel. With a Google search one should be able to find a few. Also, search on eBay to see what buyers are paying for the reel. Right now I know of at least three of these reels being sold on eBay.

Thanks for the heads-up BOGIE262, about the reel glowing in the dark. I'll take your word on it, but it no longer glows in the dark.
