My great great grandfather William Malcolm was born in 1846 in Manchester England. He moved to the USA where he enlisted in the American Army and served with the 26th 1st Vermont Cavalry during the Civil War. William was captured and held at Andersonville Stockade for 10 months. After the war he returned to England, married his sweetheart Eliza in 1867 Lancashire. They were given this Crystal vase for a wedding present. William and Eliza moved that same year to the USA taking the vase with them. In 1876 the family returned to England. Their daughter Eliza either inherited the vase or it was given to her as a present some time around 1900. When my mother married in 1951 Eliza gave the vase to her as a wedding gift. Then a few years ago my mum handed it down to me. It is a beautiful vase, I have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and have not found any marks at all. I was told it was Waterford Crystal but would love to know for sure. I would appreciate any help, thank you

Can anyone help to identify, please.

Waterford glass/ crystal was not in production in 1867. The original company shut down in the 1850s, and it wasn't until after WWII that the works in Waterford, Ireland were started again.

Noob thank you for that info, I should have googled it myself. It is possible that the piece may have been in the family before 1867. I do not know for sure. I live in hope, it is a most beautiful piece of Crystal.
