    Found at a flea market for 8 dollars. A pottery vase wrapped in very delicate weaving. There are little black marks at the top a of the weaving that look kind of Native American.Very solid and heavy. I would love to know more about it.

      I think it more likely Japanese looking at the glaze and basketwork.
      Hopefully Ho2 will pop in for a look at comment.

      Awaji ware sometimes has similar basket weave covering. Base doesn't seem quite right for Awaji though. Is the interior clear glazed or unglazed?

      no this is not Awaji. it's a lot newer than that. it does look Japanese or Chinese though - from the 60s/70s. i like these delicately woven pieces!
