OutOfTheBox
(1 item)
We are looking for information about this trunk. We have found no markings of any type. The man we acquired it from indicated that it was his great-great-grandfather's. It is 36" x 24" x 22". The corners are all leather-clad. The inside is fabric lined and has a cedar bottom. The tray at the top rolls back into the lid area, and its front compartments flip up for easy access to the bottom compartment. Everything about it appears to be fully original. We've done no cleanup or conditioning for these photos.

Here is the patent for the unique interior tray for this H.W. Rountree trunk and some advertising of the time period. Much luck thanks for the post.

This one is solved! Thank you Drill! I just spent some time browsing the net using the information you provided and was very surprised at the condition of this trunk, especially on the inside, relative to others I found. Having all of the inside fabric intact and in good shape seems to be very unusual.
Beautiful trunk!
