The past week has been fairly warm. Life is not delaying here as there are already tadpoles in the pond and daffodils/forsythia in bloom. Still, most trees are naught but full of buds currently, without any new or green leaves on them. But, the grass has gone from dull and yellow, to green and permeated by weeds rearing their edible heads.

Pic 1: Valentino eating a weed.
Pic 2: Valentino eyeing more weeds.
Pic 3: Valentino eating weed, almost consuming the camera.

Who knew lizards loved weed so much?

It was his first time outside this year. Sadly, there is new construction going on next door, so the air was polluted with machinery noise and the smell of concrete and oil.

Feels GREAT out there for a change, As I was reading down my thought was your last line lol but he looks very happy
    5. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
      I can't call him a pot-head, but he wore a bottle cap once. :)
Or do you mean on the noise? As for that, he listens to metal with me, and I doubt he can tell the difference. LOL.
    6. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 8 years ago
Between pot and a bottle cap sure he can but they are both a little heavy on the head ;o
    7. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
      It was cute.

Not much meat for a meal. LOL ! Maybe he will put on a lot of weight before Thanksgiving.
    9. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
I'd have to make a meal of you if you tried that.

Oh dear, another Valentino on CW! ;)

Glad Spring is springing where you live, SB, sorry about the construction next door, that tends to ruin the effect.

I've been seeing Blue Belly/Western Fence Lizards, and an Alligator Lizard, but that's it so far, we're still getting rain so they're not out trying to get warm yet, I guess! :^) No snakes yet either, but a lot of Jack Rabbits, there's soooo much grass everywhere, Raptors are going to feast this year, Coyotes, and Bobcats too! :^D
    18. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
We get a lot of snakes here. Foxes, raccoon, etc.

Oh Good God, you folk! Thank the Lord I'm a city girl! :P
    20. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
The Lord is very good that He created so many wonderful creatures to enjoy.
      You dunno what you're missing.
    21. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 8 years ago
So many wonderful creatures indeed, Love just sitting out in the woods waiting to see who walks by, On the other hand 2 deer and even a bear have ran right into my car in the last 2 years They tend to look better IN the woods, Kind of made friends with a bear one summer I was living in the woods I called him Sam as he was eating purple flowers (from a 1971 song Draggin the Line - "My dog Sam eats Purple flowers") when I 1st noticed him, Not like we were hugging but didn't eat eachother ;D
    22. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
Poor creatures. LOL. I'd be the one to set-up a feeding station, if we had bears. LOL.
      *Eats purple flowers.*
    23. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 8 years ago
Just not anyplace near your house ya don't want them thinking food when in your yard but I guess bears have to eat too, I did feed Sam but only when I was ready to move on.
    24. antiquerose antiquerose, 8 years ago
I liked it SPIRIT, as I do not like crawling things like this........LOL, but he SURE LOOKS CUTE !! Lizards scare me.....LOL/

~ Wow, he does not run away being outside in the strange world ?
    25. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
LOL, Political Pinbacks. If I had it my way, I'd have them in the house. But I know that doesn't work out. I just remember the bears at where I used to volunteer, particularly one named Sammy. :P

Antique Rose, he's very sweet. When he gets scared, he runs to a place to hide. The part of the yard you see him in is a clean environment I built for turtles. No pesticides or herbicides. There's a turtle fence. There's a pond. Lots of edible plants. Lots of flowers. Lots of logs and such to hide in.

Wonders if my Sam retired to the easy life AKA Sammy or Sammy ran off to the woods and shorted his name, Strange both having know a bear period but named Sam/Sammy, Submitted for your consideration only in the...
    27. PoliticalPinbacks PoliticalPinbacks, 8 years ago
Known* P.S. Nice sounding environment you built.

He is fabulous. I have my own prehistoric reptile, Tess the Tortoise. It's great that she also is outside enjoying the weeds ha ha
    29. SpiritBear, 8 years ago
Political Pinbacks, that was around 6-7 years ago. He got sent elsewhere when the animal sanctuary lost its license.
      It's a good area.

Wandless Fairy, LOL. We had 3 turtles. Sadly, a storm occurred and damaged the fence, which let them escape to the creek out back.
