Maynard Speed Mixer No. 77 Circa 1950

Found an ad on the net from 1949 although that may have been the earlier Model No 70. Buy 1953 there was different model so 1950 is pretty close.
As can be seen this is not the usual egg beater. It has a side mounted handle and the gears are covered. Has a very attractive streamlined look to it ushering in the jet and rocket age.
As for the side mounted handle it was a nice idea but there is a reason all the other beaters have a top mounted handle. One must really struggle to keep it straight to compensate for the torque from the turning handle. Looks like another for the museum of things that look great but don't work all that well.
Still they make some of the best collectibles.
