In the old days of scouting the cap was very important. It was to be worn at all times when wearing the uniform. There were rules for not wearing the hat also such as interring a home, church, school, office, or indoor gathering. I do not think they are so formal these days. Caps like these are seen in my BSA plaques from the Late 50s early 60s. Norman Rockwell did the artwork for them
This cap is 6 3/4 -6 7/8s and is the medium size. It is on my wig stand normally used for my WWII flying cap. I think they stopped the mandatory cap/hat rule in the mid 1960s.
Love looking at old BSA items give me a little flashback, Loved the camp outs, and should have stayed in a few more weeks I was a Life scout and only 2 badges away from a Eagle, Found some of my BSA stuff but not the canteen (yet)
