One of the things for which I am on the look out are vintage build-ups. This is from my recent Rose Bowl visit and it is a model of a Republic F-84 Thunderjet. The original is from the very early 1950s, designed in the late 1940s before they realized jets needed swept wings.
This model has a wingspan has a 10" wingspan. I am thinking it is 1/48th scale.
It has "Republic F-84 Thunderjet" molded under the cockpit on the left side. It is lacking the details of current models such as hard points for bombs and missiles and the machine guns mounted in the nose. Still it is stylish. I plan to display it above my Air Force GI Joes as that would be the sort of plane they would be flying.
