it has a small backward R with a P , it is smaller than later pieces
it has a fine crazing throughout the vase, there is an etched A in the bottom the RP is impressed and there are I believe 3 ciphers, not sure what they represent. Right above the impressed RP and slightly to the left there seems to be another mark under a partial white wash or glaze and it is RP written or etched. The upper part of the huge vase is more porrous than the bottom or textured it seems. Overall it is dull in color. I wonder if the A is for Anna or one of the other artists with Rookwood. A dear knowledgeable friend believes this to be a Roseville USA but I do not believe she is correct, unless their sign was different and those little cipers are an R????Anyone??
