When I found this at the Flea Market on Easter Sunday, a very slow day, but several good buys, I didn't know what it was, but could tell it was an old pocket knife of some kind, but when I got home and found one on line, what a buy I got! :^D The J. Russell knife company was producing knives over 130 years ago, and this Druggist Pocket Spatula was made from 1890's-1920's, and very rare!
The folded spatula is 3 1/8", and 5 3/4" when open. It's marked on the blade <>R<>, under that, J.RUSSELL, under that, & CO., under that what looks like C R W, but is half covered by the handle. The handle is listed as ivory, but looks like bone to me.
I have a link that I'll post with more info on J. Russell & Co., in comments.
Thank you for looking, and all questions, and comments welcome! :^)

uncle Ron says " The mark partially under the bolster is G.R.W. for "Green River Works." They were also made with ebony and pearl handles."
    Thank you Ron! :^)
