Hello Friends, I'm spending my day digging through places that have long needed to be uncluttered. Finding many mystery pieces.
The Brooch is large at 2 1/2" across the top bar, and hangs 3" long.
I don't think it's all that old, if at all?
But what I do find interesting is.....in photo #4 you can see the very top piece of the locket appears to have had a pendant added. Notice the hole in the very tip. And it has writing I think I'm seeing clearly enough to copy.
"TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO"
Eagerly awaiting all thoughts, guesses and knowledge. The good, bad and the ugly are all welcome comments.
Thanks!
I've impressed myself....I found the meaning of the words.
Still no explanation as to it being added to this Brooch.

TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO means "Three Joined in One".

Possible that someone had the badge made into a locket.
Thanks Bonnie!
I guess anything could have happened, but it had not occurred to me that it was a badge. And that does seem more likely. Thank you!
That was an interesting link Bonnie. I'll dig further later.
But I have some glass I want to post....lol
Thanks!
You're welcome!
"Three Joined in One"... is this a reference to The Trinity?...The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit? It looks like a Cross on the medallion portion...
