https://nohmask21.com/eu/intro.html This is an interesting site. I don't know - maybe it would be helpful as a starting point?
clenched mouth or not clenched mouth
you got something like 459 masks different mask in Japan subdivided into 6 groups
this one is an O-Beshimi meaning large clenched mouth
The mask is of a god... representing a tengu who protects others from evil spirits and demons - named ?beshimi
the question is this a real one,
1 is this wood and if it is wood , is it ITTOBORO= one face one cut
IMO the Striae and the grain of the wood are missing are missing
2 also the residu of the GOFUN = old smoothing paste made out of shattered oyster shells outlines emphasize the wrinkle sin the brown skin
so what is it
Tengu are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion. They are considered a type of y?kai (supernatural beings) or Shinto kami (gods).
this one is easy to recognize clenched teeth and eyeballs like being an participant in the movie flic scanners (popping out effect)
While the ?beshimi has an look of inner will power, , it also has an whimsical side if ?beshimi were to unclamp its teeth, it would break into a an sort of smiley
?beshimi's tense expression creates deep wrinkles on the forehead and forces both ends of the eyebrows to curl upward
were are they used for
Used for tengu roles inKuruma z? Zegai Kurama Tengu, , , Dairokuten, and probably in Daie, ( i forgot)
next question , is this an SHAKA SHITA = under mask , likely
correction 2 gofun is missing
