Hi CW Gang ~
Well here it is. My Grad Dress of mine from when I graduated back in 1979. It is now 37 years old. It was purchased at MACY's when there was a store here -- and it was THE PLACE to buy gown, wedding dresses, etc as the word Macy's screams quality. Anyway. My Grad dress was NOT gaudy looking design as I wanted something soft. God I remember trying on a zillion dresses and my Mom was getting upset with me. Finally found this one that has a slight beige to it and pretty soft colots. Has a ruffle around the bottom.
Also has a little top jacket that ties at the front. Sleeves are 3/4 long with some ties at the end of them. It is 65 polyester and 35 cotton I think the label said?? Not sure if I read that wrong as that adds up to more than 100?? Will Check. It NEEDS a cleaning as it has just been in my closet since 1979....lol...and been with me for every move. I tried to get the actual design and color with some close-ups of the pattern and material.
You know, I still love it. Once I found this dress at Macy's - I loved it!!
Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

@valentino97 --- There quickly found one. Again this was my Grad dress. That is my Mom and my 2 brothers. My Dad had passed away only 2 years before this, so we just did the family thing for our dates, since my Mom was alone.
My Mom Dress was VERY beautiful and Regal looking !!!! It looked SO Good on her even though she was still mourning - as it was hard for her ( and all of us ) at my Grad.
~ The other gown I posted was for a wedding...I have to dig in some photos for that one yet
A very stylish family and the dress is so pretty Rose!
Thanks for posting it. I graduated a few years before you and was living in a share house at the time; no money, so I made my own dress. Total abomination, and fortunately I have no photographic record of it.
I would have much preferred yours.
Amazing post!
I wonder how long your mom had to look for the dress she is wearing, so classy too. Great pic of your grad supporting party ! I remember the styles now with the pic.
Oh!.. antiquerose it is just beautiful..soft and very pretty, I bet you felt wonderful in it!!...:-)
Awesome post, Rose! :-)) And great choice, that's a beautiful dress!
Karen, what is a share house?
Rose, it's a lovely dress. A lovely family portrait, I can see the facial resemblance, lol. ;)) Thanks for sharing your memories and sweet story. :)
Rose this is a great dress and am sooo glad you have kept it. A girl always knows "the one" as soon as she sees it. Beautiful.
Katherine a share house is another word for hell lol. No really, it's when a group of people, usually students, rent a house together and share all costs. I was in one at the end of high school as my parents moved away and I decided to stay in Sydney to finish school. Of course, as a stupid 17 year old, I partied hard and got a fairly ordinary result in my Matriculation exam. Life has been generally good since however!!!
