When my Dad graduated from high school in the 1930's, finding a job as a young man wasn't the easiest task. One such early job for him was when he was applying in a local shirt factory. He was shown the basics for making a shirt, given scrap pieces of fabric, & told to demonstrate his ability of assembling a shirt. This is the result of his efforts & got him the job.
We always told him that his "masterpiece" shirt would easily win in an ugly shirt contest. His reply was that this shirt got him hired at that factory many years ago when jobs were scarce.. To say the least...."it looks better framed in our family room as a conversation piece than it could have ever looked worn in public." Not that he ever did it.
Memories..............priceless !!!!!!
GREAT ! Luv the story.
