Just want to know what sort of spoon this is? Is it merely just a decorative spoon or does it commemorate something? Somebody said it looked like an Apostle spoon, whereas somebody else said the figure might be a suffragette? We know it's silver and I have attached a close up of the hallmark to see if that offers any clues. It belonged to my husband's auntie and mother-in-law and I have been puzzling what it is.
It may be someone recognizable in England, not this country.
Probably not Suffragette, not the right clothing era or colors. Looks to me like might be a well known character of some sort. Good photo of the marks, someone here may be able to tell you more about where and when it was made.
Florence Nightingale?
It was made in Sheffield England and date stamped circa 1893. If the Rd# is British it would place it at 1917 which is a little to far away from the makers date and after the fact. If it was north america The Rd # puts it to 1887-1888 which seems more suited in relation to the makers date. The lady image looks to be Laura Secord you may want to search images ------ Laura Secord - Wikipedia----Statue of Laura Secord at the Valiants Memorial in Ottawa
