I dug this up in my uncles yard in Cable Ohio. I know it does not look to appealing but just trying to find out if anyone has any knowledge on the LA-MAY compacts. The only one I have seen or found online that looks like this says, Roystone's first german silver compact, around 1921. it looks identical except for the finish. there is not a dent on mine, no rust at all. I know they made some of tin, and some of silver. Anyone have any pointers as to whom to contact for more info that would be great. The cabin where I found it was built in the late 1800's and my uncles last name orginates back to Germany.
