I just bought these two bikes at an estate sale today. I was told by a friend, who is pretty knowledgable about antiques, that I should by them both, because I could turn a profit, I buy and sell on the side. I have looked up everything regarding these bikes, and I can't find any information on them... anything would help. I payed 180 for the pair. I called a local bike museum, and they said it was a Schwann based on the serial number, but what I am finding online is contradicting that.

1st Welcome to CW stick around there's a lot of funs things to learn about here and tons of good folks to help.
Had one of these Schwinn Stingray Fastback some bring a VERY good buck, not sure if you would be better off restoring or keeping it original someone here will know.

Hope the slick tire can be fixed they cost a lot, I was thinking this was the 3 speed so it might be a different model? you can highlight the bike name above right click and search it should bring up a lot of them.

Little closer look it could be a 1968 Sears Spyder the shifter looks a little off for a Schwinn

OR LOL more like a 1969 Huffy Rail 'Stingray

Thank you for your help. I just got off the phone with a local bike shop, I was told it was probably sold from sear and the era is 70's to 80's. he offered me 350 for both. I'm now starting to think they are worth more than what I thought.

I'm sure he wants to keep some meat on the bone, Maybe look on eBay and other sites once you track down just what you have however many on eBay ask the moon and never sell so I would look at sold prices, One the Schwinn Stingray Fastback took off everybody was making similar bikes for 15 years so it's going to take some sleuthing to find the exact model. most have 2 upper rails over and under where yours is side by side and most rear fenders extend past the rear seat post where your fender ends short of the post, I wrote to stonie a CW member who has posted several bikes asking him to take a look.

Does not look like Schwinn at all. See if that bike shop will give you $400. $350 seems like a fair price to me. They aren't super desirable like a 1960s Schwinn and you don't have a retail store where you can wait for the right buyer.

Can you swap image #2 for a close up of the head badge? Our local bike guy said that will help but felt the offer you have is a very fair one.
      Thanks

I had the one for the girls. That's called a banana seat, and if I would have read the comments above, that is most likely there already. Mine did not have the bar in the middle, this was considered the 'boys' bikes. I want to add also that this is not an 'antique' but is considered 'vintage' so when you are looking up the bike, in your browser just add the words "vintage schwinn" to whatever the above mentioned.

I don't know where you are but around here there are many car shows and I bet 9 out of 10 times, if you bring them to one of those shows, especially the low rider shows, you'd sell them in a heart beat. They like to do the same to these bikes somewhat like they do to their cars. Then you don't even have to pay a third party. I bet if after you clean them up a bit, you'll ride one and want to keep it!!! Very cool bikes!

The head badge says texas ranger, and there is a AMF sticker on the bike as well

Oh, I loved our banana seat bike. Most times, they were pieced together bikes but so comfortable to ride. Easy to maneuver and loads of fun.

oops I put AMX meant AMF
That should have made it easy to find yet I still can't, Might want to post it on the forum below as well they might be able to help?
