I was told that the desk was handmade in Thailand or Philippines and a businessman had it made for his bookkeeper. It has tongue/groove drawers. The wood is solid except the top is veneer. Each drawer is numbered on the backside in black. Numbering is by Roman Numerals and a mark which looks like a sideways 9 (l, ll, lll, etc). Legs are not removable. The small brass drawer knobs on the lower large drawers look to be original. It appears to be refinished with a darker red stain. The lighter areas appear to be the actual wood color which is a honey not red. 60W x 31D x 41H. I have found photos of desks that are similar but this desk has a square back (no rounding to the corners). I am looking for any additional information on the desk.
I think overall it is based or styled as a "carlton desk."
