Hi everyone! I bought this old RCA Victor Victrola record player. . I am learning as I go with it. A Victor has the horn on the outside and the Victrola has it on the inside. The VV-90 was introduced in 1921 when Victor updated their product lineup. It was intended as a replacement for the popular VV-XI, but with a slightly smaller cabinet and without casters. All VV-90's had the semi-automatic brake and a two-spring motor, and was available in mahogany, oak or walnut, but the most popular choice was mahogany. Production of the VV-90 was ended in 1922, but due to a large unsold inventory it remained in the Victor catalog until 1925.

The original 1921 selling price of the VV-90 was $125.00. An estimated total of 85,500 Victrola 90's were produced.

Yes I bought it! Finally got it home and unloaded. I didn't try it before i bought so hoping for the best. I wound it..but don't know how to release the break to make the record spin. I'll take pictures in a bit.. but it came with a good amount of records.

Yes there is a turning knob to slow or fast.but seems stuck. . I can't turn it with my fingers. So need to find a rubber gripy or something. I'll try that. How will i know if the spring is bad? And is that a pain to change? Thanks so much for your help Bobby! Oh also how much should one turn the knob to make it play? I don't want to over turn.
