Thrift-Store Find, C. 1891

As it has the Deutsches Reichspatent & Gebrauchmuster (D. R. P. & G. M.) mark on this wecker (alarm) clock, we know it is circa 1891. The style is suggestive of early 1900s, to a decade after the first World War.

It's missing a couple knobs and will not tick much, but the alarm works, albeit it's mostly a series of dull thuds that wouldn't wake most people up (and if they did wake up, they'd be very confused as to what it is making the noise).

Interesting cylindre movement in a less-common-shaped case; found in one of my favourite thrift stores several weeks back. It was a high $5 and tax. LOL.

In short: German-made Carriage-style Alarm Clock. C. 1891.
