This sign came from the New York City IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) Pelham Bay Parkway station. This station was built in 1918 and is still in service today. These Nelke Veribrite cobalt blue IRT porcelain signs were used extensively in the early 1900s until they were phased out in favor of the black on white porcelain signs in the 1930s.
Big sign, but if make a place for it! I love my Cobalt NYC humpback sign.
